Unisexual:
Male or female flowers
The term used to describe a plant that has either male or female flowers, but not both. A female plant requires pollen from a male flower for fertilisation to take place. E.g. Ilex (Holly) plants are usually male or female, both sexes need to be grown in the vicinity for the female to produce berries.
