World Class Plant Displays at the Wisley Flower Show

Serious plant buyers have a treat in store this summer: the Wisley Flower Show is back, from 8 to 11 September 2011, a showcase for unusual and hard-to-come-by plants as well as firm favourites. The show promises to fill you with gardening inspiration and, for the first time, will run over four consecutive days.

"It’s a gorgeous, friendly show that attracts the best UK nurseries, showcasing an array of fantastic plants" says Rosy Hardy of Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants, 16-time RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold-medal winner, "and it is that which makes us come back year on year to exhibit. Quality exudes from every part of this show, from the type of plants on sale to the world-class setting of RHS Garden Wisley."

The depth and breadth of the range of plants on sale combine well with the impressive exhibit by the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS). Under the theme ‘Enchanted Isle’, the NAFAS displays will wow with colour and spark the imagination, for inspiration has been taken from ‘Calypso Rhythm’ and ‘South Pacific’. More than 80 floral arrangements will provide a huge variety of style and flower choice.

"The Wisley Flower Show is a much more intimate show compared to its Chelsea and Hampton Court Palace counterparts, and yet it still brings together the top specialist nurseries from up and down the country" says Jim Gardiner RHS Director of Horticulture. "With more than 40 exhibitors from HW Hyde and Tale Valley Nursery to The Botanic Nursery and Potash Nursery this is perfect opportunity to get advice and buy direct from the experts."

The RHS Horticultural Trials & Relations team will have a display at the flower show focusing on two key initiatives; the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) and RHS Perfect for Pollinators. They will also have tours to the trials field via the AGM beds to help people understand what the award means.
