This member of the pea and bean family provides some early summer colour in the garden. It is a perennial plant and grows by underground rhizomes. The bright green leaves of Thermopsis rhombifolia are split into 3 leaflets. The flowers are bright yellow and lupin-like. They are produced in clusters on upright flower stalks. This plant can be invasive.
