Gardening and Plant FAQs
Q: Can I Sow Vegetable Seeds that were Harvested Last Year?
The answer to this question is Yes providing you remember the following:
- Seeds must be allowed to ripen properly on the parent plant prior to harvesting.
- Clean seed thoroughly prior to storage, discard any seeds that do not look perfectly healthy.
- Store in an old envelope, do not store in a plastic container as the seed will sweat.
- Remember that when you sow the seed you may not get the same plant as a result, you may get an interesting cross!
